Hey there, I'm Valerie. I'm a Bangkok-bred Hong Konger and a native Thai and English speaker who also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. Being a polyglot and language learner, I understand the challenges that one may face when learning languages with various tones and can help you overcome that. I'm flexible, patient and super easygoing and am more than happy to cater to what you'd like to learn (be it only speaking and listening or learning to write all the 44 Thai consonants). How easy is it to learn Thai in Hong Kong?
Let's be very real, Thai is not the easiest language to learn (especially if you're native language isn't tonal to begin with); but with enough practice, perseverance and a passionate tutor *wink wink*, you'll be able to pick it up in no time.
How much time does it take to learn Thai in Hong Kong?
Like learning everything, the main factor would mainly depend on how much time you dedicate to your practice, but one of my students managed to learn how to not only speak, but also read AND write basic Thai in only 11 months of (almost consistent) weekly 1 hour sessions! (and - don't tell him this - but he doesn't really practice much outside of our meetings either)
