I have 7 years of experience teaching Swahili in the US at the university level.
Currently, I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Studies at the University of New Mexico. In the past, I have worked as a Swahili translator with refugee wellness projects in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have also volunteered as a Swahili translator with Albuquerque Public Schools.
