I have vast teaching experience as a secondary school teacher in both IGCSE (Edexcel and Cambridge) and 8:4:4 schools. I currently teach the years 9-12 classes (Edexcel and Cambridge) as I do research work for my thesis, Nairobi. Priorly, I was at Light International School where I taught form 4 besides teaching IGCSE ( Y9-Y11). I did a part-time tutorial at Jamia Tuition Centre, Mombasa. I have taught A-level home-based learners too. I train in both field games and indoor games and have been awarded certificates at county, regional, and national levels.
I bring strong instructional, motivational, and creative skills to fast-paced learning environments, keeping students engaged and interested in the subjects being taught. Through the years, I have learned to incorporate fun individual and group projects and classroom activities that have proven effective in helping students develop grade-appropriate reading comprehension and writing abilities. I incorporate technology in modern pedagogy to be relevant in this millennium.
Throughout my career, I have worked closely with school administrators and parents to ensure the success of each of my students. I have taught in both small settings with less than 15 students to larger classrooms containing above 30 students and I am comfortable in any learning environment, possessing the ability to adapt my instructional style as needed.
I remain dedicated to improving my teaching methods and regularly attend professional development seminars to learn new ways to bring a fresh approach to teaching high school English. Also, I have consistently kept meticulous records of student progress and achievement and keep in constant communication with parents and school officials regarding these issues.
