I am a native speaker of Swahili from Kenya and I speak one of the two main Swahili dialects in Kenya and that is 'Kimvita'. I share a love for Swahili language teaching to foreigners who are looking to not only speak and understand Swahili but also delve deep into the culture of its native speakers and learn how much the culture influences the language.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English Literature which has made me competent to teach Swahili grammar to English native speakers. I have enriched my language teaching skills and experience by working with learners from the ages of 7 - 18 years and adult learners from diverse language backgrounds; teaching Swahili, English, and French as second or third languages.
The easiest way to learn Swahili in Mombasa is simply by engaging in simple conversations with the locals. Speak confidently and do not worry about making mistakes. First start speaking the basics with your tutor by talking about yourself, and your favorite things to do; you can even talk about your family and friends! Learning Swahili is through daily practice whether by yourself in front of the mirror or with another native speaker.
Swahili is one of the easiest languages to learn. Its pronunciation is easy and its grammar is fun to learn and easily memorable!
