I’m a Spanish-, English-, and French-speaking finance professional with an international academic and professional background, currently based in Tokyo.
I hold a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where I specialized in Development Finance and Political Risk, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in International Business with a minor in Political Science. I have also studied and worked across Europe, Asia, and the United States.
Professionally, I have worked in finance at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, focusing on international capital markets, investment and mobilization. I have worked on dozens of transactions across Asia and Latin America, working with international banks, investors, and companies.
I am fluent in Spanish, English and French, and also speak conversational Italian. Having lived and worked internationally, I understand the challenges of learning and using a foreign language in real professional and social situations.
My lessons are designed to be practical, engaging and adapted to each student. Whether you want to improve your conversational Spanish, communicate more confidently at work, prepare for travel, or simply become more comfortable speaking with native Spanish speakers.
For an English-speaking learner, Spanish is generally one of the more accessible major languages to learn. The pronunciation is relatively consistent, the alphabet is familiar, and there are many words with Latin roots that resemble English
Learning Spanish in Tokyo can be challenging because opportunities to use the language in everyday life are limited. My lessons are designed to bring real Spanish conversation into your routine, with practical topics and discussions adapted to your interests and professional background.
