As a language enthusiast, I have taught and learned different languages both in my home country and around the world. I have worked as a Spanish teacher for over five years, both in person and online, in Melbourne, Australia, and Santiago, Chile.
I have worked with children in therapeutic and educational settings while completing my Diploma in Early Childhood Education in Australia. I have also taught adult students from A1 to C2 levels in language schools.
I use a language immersion approach, while remaining flexible about using other languages in class and prioritising my students’ needs and interests. I want my students to enjoy their lessons and feel comfortable and free from pressure while learning.
I speak Spanish as my native language, English at a C1 level, conversational Portuguese, French at a B1 level, and some Italian and Japanese.
It is difficult to compare languages. The difficulty of a language depends on your mother tongue, but in my experience as a language student and teacher, the main challenge for Spanish learners is grammar, while pronunciation is generally quite manageable. Learning a language is a rewarding experience that requires motivation and consistent practice, and I can help you stay motivated and make steady progress.
It can be, especially if your Spanish is at a beginner or intermediate level, because there is a great diversity of accents across Latin America.
