Hi! I'm Dani, a 30-years-old Argentinian living in Queenstown. I have a scientific background (Industrial Chemist), but I'm always been fascinated by languages and I've been teaching Spanish for a few years, including to my husband, who is an English native-speaker!. I find the traditional way of teaching a language a bit boring, so my goal is to make it fun and interesting, choosing topics you're interested in and focusing on what you find useful. I give lessons using material specially selected for you, not following just a manual, including videos, audio, books, etc. And of course a lot of conversation!
Just let me know which are your interests and hobbies and what's your goal, and you'll find learning Spanish easy and fun :)
Spanish is not a difficult language to learn if you are willing to dedicate some time to it. One of the best advantages I find in Spanish compared with English is pronunciation and reading. Just with a few pronunciation rules, you're able to read perfectly even if you don't understand every word. I find this aspect a good advantage to improve quickly and, even if the grammar takes a bit more time, able to have fluent conversations and readings.
How much time it takes to learn Spanish will depend on how much time you want to invest in learning and how much do you practice beyond the lesson. Practicing at home is not necessary long boring homework, but just watching movies/series or listening to music/podcasts (in Spanish of course) are some examples of activities which I would recommend doing to make the best of the lessons and improve quickly.
