Hi there! My name is Mariana, but you may call me Mari. I am thrilled to be your tutor and accompany you in the process of learning a new language.
I've been involved in helping others learn new languages since I was an adolescent, through summer camps and fun educational activities.
I have more than 6 years working in bilingual contexts, and I've learned how to acquire language as naturally as possible, while still trying to understand how to form new deep-rooted knowledge that gives you real-life skills to successfully develop yourself in your new language.
I don't think either English or Spanish is are hard language if you learn them the right way and without overwhelming yourself with huge amounts of information that is not as helpful in your first interaction with the language.
I know a lot about a lot of subjects, as I am a very geek person! So you can expect conversations from basically anything you want to talk about!
Looking forward to working together to achieve all your language goals.
I think it can be both. As the dialect in Bogotá can be very clear, or it can be quite tricky. It does take an effort and a clear desire to adapt to the culture; but I think the results can be amazing, and you can learn to speak perfect in a decent amount of time.
Yes and no. It is not really hard to learn how to speak Spanish. However, learning all the grammatical rules and learning it on an intermediate-upper advanced level can be more tricky.
