(ONLINE LESSONS) I've been a qualified Spanish teacher since August 2021 and I've got 4 years of experience with students from a wide range of ages (from 6 to 65 years old) and levels (from beginners to B2).
As I've also been a qualified English teacher since 2019, I'm able to teach Spanish through English, if needed, and I know where English speakers find it tricky.
From my experience learning languages, I do think that all of them are difficult as long as you lose motivation and don't study and push consistently.
I will help you keep up your motivation and you will reach a decent level of Spanish to be able to communicate with others in a few weeks.

How much time does it take to learn Spanish in Barcelona?

Studying 3 hours a week and having some extra motivation to practice the language during the rest of the week, I think in 2 months you can achieve a good conversational level of Spanish.

I’ve had the pleasure of learning Spanish with Alex for the past few months, and I can’t recommend him enough! From day one, Alex was welcoming and supportive and it made me feel comfortable to make mistakes while learning. Our classes is a perfect combination of structured learning and engaging conversation an he has an incredible patience, always taking his time to explain every grammar rule or exceptions within the language until I feel sure I understand it. The classes are both fun and educational and my Spanish skills and confidence within the language has grown exceptionally thanks to Alex being such a wonderful and skilled teacher :)

I feel so lucky to have found Alex as my Spanish tutor. We started our lessons via Zoom, back in November. I live in Toronto, and he's in Spain, but he's always been very accommodating with my changing schedule, our 6h time difference, while also managing his schedule with numerous other students. Alex always has a lesson for the day ready, and he emails me notes regularly at the end of the lesson. Being a teacher myself, I have very high expectations from a teacher, and Alex meets them very well; he listens to my needs well, always challenges me (which I really appreciate, as some teachers will just give the answer when a student is stuck), shares cultural knowledge about Spain, and makes himself available through WhatsApp for any questions. Alex is always punctual, and quite frankly, his classes have been affordable enough for me to be able to have lessons twice a week since November 2022. We have mostly switched to conversational practice now, where I am putting into practice the many concepts he's taught me, such as the present tense, present continuous, past tenses (perfecto and indefinido), the simple futur and near futur with 'ir +a', pronouns in perifrasis verbales, prepositions, along with lots of vocab and expressions. I look forward to learning the subjunctive and imperative tenses with him, in addition to a lot more. Alex has such a warm personality that at this point, I consider him a friend alongside being my teacher. I look forward to our lessons and to continue learning with him. Alejandro is a great Spanish teacher. He is always well prepared for classes, and we made quick progress through the content. Lessons with Alejandro were much better and more effective than group classes I had previously and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn Spanish

I'm taking Spanish lessons from scratch for three months now. Alejandro is a really good teacher! He has a great teaching plan and each time comes to class well-prepared. But we always have some time on the lesson for the questions I have. I like that we learn not only the rules, but also phrases that are necessary in everyday life. His explanations are very clear (we study in English). Communication is great, there is no stress or pressure. Now I can survive in Barcelona :) Thanks a lot, Alex!
