Hi, my name is Marina. I come from the beautiful Russian city of St. Petersburg. Now I live in the U.S., in the state of Virginia. I graduated from St. Petersburg State University with a degree in “Linguist, Teacher and Translator of English and Russian Languages,” and I have many years of experience teaching Russian language and culture to students of various proficiency levels. I teach both beginners and advanced students and can customize lessons to suit their individual goals. My teaching approach focuses on encouraging my students. Having studied various languages myself, I understand that learning a new language could be challenging and requires time and practice. During Russian language lessons, each language skill, such as listening, speaking, reading and writing, will be addressed to achieve confidence. Of course, I discuss with my students the essentials of the Russian culture, which is necessary to function in Russia and in places where Russian language is used. Communicative goals, of course, will not displace the focus on the main aspects of Russian grammar. I truly enjoy teaching Russian and look forward to sharing my knowledge with my students!
Learning a new language, including Russian, can be challenging, but the Washington D.C. area provides many opportunities for dedicated students to attain strong proficiency in Russian.
The easiest way to learn Russian in Washington D.C. is by enrolling in a course or working one-on-one with a tutor.
