I’m a 35 years old native Russian currently living in Reykjavík, Iceland. I have MA degree in journalism and I did an internship at the Faculty of Education of Bohemian University as a foreign language teacher. I currently work in the Icelandic compulsory school as a primary school teacher. I speak fluent English and intermediate Icelandic, which I studied in the course "Practical Diploma in Icelandic as a Second Language" in University of Iceland. Before pandemic I used to work as a tour guide in English and Russian.

Is Russian easy to learn?
Russian is not easy, but very interesting language. We have a lot of words borrowed from different languages and many similarities in grammar patterns with different language groups. Despite cyrilic alphabet is looking quite frightening for these who use to read latin letters, you can learn it very quick to start reading in Russian.
Is it difficult to learn Russian in Reykjavik?
I’m ready to come to any place in Reykjavík area that you find comfortable for learning. So at least you don’t need to go to the another end of the city to start learning language. The rest depends on your abilities. In the libraries of Reykjavik you can find some books in Russian, there is also a library of the Russian cultural center located in the Russian Orthodox Church.
