Private Russian Tutor in Minsk and Online

Private Russian lessons online

Hello, I'm Olga, a native Russian speaker. I've completed the professional retraining program "Methods of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language" at the MGU Russian Language Centre, so I bring both solid methodology and a natural feel for the language to every lesson.
My first degree is in International Relations, and this foundation helps me understand the cultural and linguistic hurdles learners face and work around them, so you feel confident from very first lesson.
We'll cover:
1). Script and calligraphy (practise how letters are formed and connected to build a solid foundation for reading and writing right from the start);
2). Phonetics and pronunciation (get comfortable with sounds and stress patterns);
3). Practical grammar (I explain the rules in a simple, clear way because grammar is essential for confident speaking. We focus only on what you need right now to express yourself, so it never feels like dry theory);
4). Real-life language (useful phrases and situations you can use immediately);
5). Optional modules on Russian culture and history are available
We start from scratch and build skills step by step at a steady, comfortable pace. Right now, I'm looking for students who see learning Russian as a hobby - someone who enjoys the process and wants to explore the language without pressure. Tell me what sparks your interest, and I'll tailor a practical learning path that feels enjoyable and meaningful to you.
I'm passionate about languages myself, so I especially welcome like-minded learners. Feel free to share a bit about your own language and culture

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the easiest way to learn Russian in Minsk?

Making Russian part of your daily routine here is key. Even such simple actions as ordering dessert or asking for directions here gives you a real-life practice and helps you to get comfortable with language

Is Russian easy to learn?

Russian is not among the easiest languages for beginners (especially for speakers of non-Slavic languages). Learners face several substantial hurdles right from the start: the Cyrillic script, a six-case grammatical system, the perfective/imperfective aspect distinction, and stress patterns that can change word meaning. These elements together create a steep initial learning curve.
However, with a structured, step-by-step approach, these challenges become manageable. In my teaching practice, I break down complex topics into small, focused units and always pair each new rule with practical, high-frequency phrases students can use immediately in real communication. This helps learners build confidence gradually and see steady, tangible progress instead of feeling overwhelmed.
As far as I know, it takes about 3 years to speak Russian fluently. However with regular practice and consistent effort, meaningful results can be achieved earlier
