Hi everyone! I am Ștefan, a Romanian native speaker currently working and living in Wellington, New Zealand. If you ever wondered what is that strange language that sounds like Russian mixed with Italian but is neither, the answer is Romanian. Out of the official Romance languages, Romanian is probably the "forgotten one", and is many times left out. If you already speak a Romance language, then the task of learning Romanian should come easy to you. I would say that with continuous exposure (speaking to a native, listening to Romanian music/ media, etc) you may reach fluency in 6 months. Otherwise, it might take you up to 2 years.
