Portuguese is a beautiful language that's fairly easy to learn, the easiest way to learn is to practice and speak with a native everyday and have relaxed and outgoing conversation rather than starting it too formal. I believe that anyone can learn basics of Portuguese in 3 months time and be able to at least have a short conversation, construct proper sentences and be able to understand what the other person is saying.
