Hey! I am Margarida, I am 22 years old and I am a Master's Student in Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. I am fluent in English and Portuguese, as I have lived and learned Portuguese my whole life. I have a C2 certificate in English too. I love Portuguese and I think it is a beautiful language, so I am happy to teach my beautiful language to everyone who is interested in learning it and also show a little of our rich and passionate culture! Portuguese can be a hard language to navigate, specially because it has a lot of dialects and because its a very colourful language, in a sense that people use a lot of figurative expressions in a day to day life that you have to know because the literal translation makes no sense. But I believe that the best way to learn Portuguese is to focus on the basics first, consume a lot of our culture, talk to Portuguese people to learn how to navigate the language and then, once in a more advanced language start focusing on the most hard parts like verb forms. It is better to be able to understand and be understood than to be always grammatically correct - its a process and I am here to help you with that!

Is Portuguese easy to learn?
Portuguese can be a hard language to learn, specially if you have never lived in Portugal. But in my opinion it is worth it because you'll get to experience our rich culture and literature while you are learning, and I think it is easy to fall in love with this language and so it makes it easier to learn. There is also a lot of fun cultural ways to learn Portuguese. Also, Portuguese people are very nice and will always appreciate the interest in the language rather than judging your progress.
How much time does it take to learn Portuguese in Stockholm?
It depends on your willingness to learn and how good you are with learning new language. But I believe that in a few months you can be able to learn basic Portuguese and improve by consuming our music, cinema and literature.
