Olá! I'm Patricia, a native Portuguese speaker from Brazil with 15+ years of international business experience. I've built and scaled an international e-commerce brand operating across multiple European and global markets - so I understand the language needs of professionals working in cross-cultural environments.
I specialize in teaching Portuguese to working professionals and entrepreneurs who need practical communication skills for business. My classes are tailored to your goals: whether you're preparing for meetings, presentations, negotiations, or simply want to communicate confidently with Brazilian partners and clients.
What I offer:
Conversational Portuguese focused on real-world professional contexts
Business vocabulary and communication strategies
Flexible scheduling for busy professionals
Patient, encouraging approach—grammar rules make sense when you see them in action
Who I work best with:
Professionals doing business with Brazil or Portuguese-speaking markets
Entrepreneurs and executives
Adults looking for genuine, practical language skills
It's very achievable—especially if you have the right support.
Portuguese has a reputation for being "difficult," but honestly, it depends on your background and your approach. If you speak Spanish, Italian, or French, you'll recognize familiar patterns. If not, don't worry—the logic is there; you just need someone to show you.
What makes it easier in Bruxelles specifically:
High number of professionals here working with Brazil or Portuguese-speaking markets—so you'll find conversation partners and real-world context
Growing community of Brazilian families and expats—cultural immersion opportunities exist
Online learning has eliminated geography barriers—you can study whenever it fits your schedule
What actually matters:
Consistency over intensity. 1-2 lessons per week, every week, beats cramming once a month
Relevance. If you're learning Portuguese for your work or relationships, that motivation sticks
The right teacher. Someone who understands why you're learning and tailors lessons to your real needs
I've worked with professionals across Europe learning Portuguese for business, and the pattern is always the same: people who start with clear goals and stay consistent see results in 3-4 months.
Let's start. Book a trial lesson and we'll map out a realistic plan for your goals. No pressure—just conversation.
Is Portuguese easy to learn?
Honestly? It depends.
Portuguese sits in a comfortable middle ground. It's easier than Mandarin or Arabic (different alphabet, different grammar logic). It's harder than Spanish if you already speak Romance languages—similar, but with pronunciation and grammar quirks that trip people up.
What makes Portuguese feel harder:
The pronunciation is tricky. Native English or German speakers especially struggle with the vowel sounds and the "sh" and "zh" sounds
Grammar has some complexity (verb tenses, subjunctive mood) that takes time to internalize
Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese are different enough to confuse learners
What makes it actually manageable:
No tones (unlike Mandarin)
No cases (unlike Russian or German)
Relatively straightforward sentence structure
Huge number of cognates with English, Spanish, French—if you speak any of those, you recognize 30-40% of vocabulary immediately
The real answer: Portuguese isn't "easy" or "hard"—it's learnable with the right approach. I've worked with beginners who felt confident in conversational Portuguese within 6 months of consistent practice. The key isn't talent; it's consistency and relevance.
If you're learning for work or because you love the culture, that motivation carries you through the tougher parts. If you're just checking a box, it feels harder than it is.
Let's talk about your situation. What's your background, and what are you hoping to achieve? That context changes everything.
