Although I haven't taught Portuguese before, I have quite a bit of experience in languages, since I'm fluent in English, and I learned Italian during my Erasmus. I also speak a bit of French and, of course, Dutch.
I have been living in the Netherlands for more than two years. Before that, I was living in Coimbra, PT where I dd my Bachelor's in Psychology. As I mentioned, I did Erasmus in Italy, and I was also a part of a group of students who had weekly Italian lessons and one where we got matched with an Italian girl who studied at the same university as us.
I have always loved languages and helping my classmates, so I'd be happy to help you learn a bit more.
Portuguese can be easier to learn if you come from a Latin language, but a lot of people pick it up quite fast. To learn any language you need a mix of lessons and day-to-day conversations, so I would start by learning sentence structure and verb formations and start bilding your vocabulary from there. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and ask questions! And don't give up before giving yourself enough time to progress!
Learning from me would also have the advantage of learning more about the culture and personality of Portuguese people, and that will hopefuylly make you feel rigt at home when you visit my wonderful country!
Doing grammatical exercises often, reading on your own time, and actually spending time speaking in Portuguese with someone!
Yes, if you come from a Latin language. If your first language is Dutch, it may be a little more difficult (I speak from the reverse experience), but it is definitely easier once you get how the language is structured!
