Hello! I'm Hyoseong, 25 years old, and I have experience teaching Korean to students ranging from complete beginners to advanced learners. I have also spent years learning foreign languages myself, which has given me valuable insight into what makes language learning both effective and sustainable.
***Availability***
I am available Monday to Saturday, with flexible hours depending on the student’s schedule. (Prefer late afternoon (4 pm - 10 pm) / Weekends (10 am - 3 pm))Please contact me to discuss suitable lesson times!
***Lesson Location***
I prefer to conduct lessons online, but I am also happy to meet at a library, café, or another mutually convenient location.
**Teaching Approach**
1) For beginner students, lessons focus on building a strong foundation in Korean, starting with Hangul (the Korean alphabet), pronunciation, basic grammar, and essential vocabulary.
2) For intermediate students, lessons focus on becoming more familiar with natural Korean through videos, audio materials, and real-life content. Students will develop their listening, speaking, and comprehension skills while becoming more comfortable with everyday Korean expressions.
3) For advanced students, the main focus is on maintaining conversations in Korean and developing fluency. Lessons emphasize natural communication, expressing opinions, discussing various topics, and using Korean confidently in real-life situations.
At the same time, I understand that every student learns differently. If a student has a preferred learning style or specific goals, I will do my best to adapt the lessons accordingly. I use a variety of teaching methods based on each student’s level, strengths, and learning preferences.
I also provide learning materials such as PDFs, worksheets, lesson notes, and other resources to support independent study outside of class.
***My Philosophy***
Learning a second language is not easy.
More than studying intensely for a short period of time, consistency is the key to long-term success. Of course, hard work is important, but when language learning feels difficult, stressful, or boring, it becomes very difficult to stay consistent. Many learners eventually lose motivation and give up.
Through my own experiences learning and teaching languages, I discovered methods that make language learning both more enjoyable and more effective. These approaches have not only helped my students improve but have also helped me successfully learn other languages myself.
If you are interested in learning more about these methods, my curriculum, or my lesson structure, feel free to contact me by email or text message. I would be happy to provide more detailed information.
***Why I Enjoy Tutoring***
One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is seeing students improve their language skills over time. Thanks to the effort and dedication of the many students I have taught, I have had the privilege of helping them achieve meaningful progress in Korean, and that has given me a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
Thank you so much for your time, and I look forward to helping you achieve your language learning goals as well:)
It won’t be easy, but I’m confident that if you follow my teaching system, you’ll be able to speak Korean without relying on a translator.
I usually teach online, but I occasionally offer in-person lessons as well.
