As a mono-lingual who had never studied abroad and taught me English, I do understand students’ struggle for learning foreign languages. During the class, I have always tried to give them confidence and affirmation that it is totally fine if they made mistakes and get wrong and also teach the well-based grammar skills.
What I care the most about learning new languages are the tutors’ patience and the student’s practice. To do so, instead of talking, I usually just sit still and listen to what students are talking about and correct their mistakes when they are done talking. I will always make sure that you could be the one who talks and be ready for the listening with my open ears.
