Private Japanese Tutor in Tokyo and Online

Hi! I’m Yu, a nationally certified Japanese language teacher with over 5 years of teaching experience.

I’ve taught students of all levels and backgrounds, including international business professionals and corporate executives. Whether you’re learning Japanese for work, daily life, or simply for the love of the language, I’m happy to help!

▪️What makes my lessons different?

For beginners, I use English to explain grammar clearly and efficiently. I believe understanding why something works makes learning much easier. Of course, you’ll also get plenty of opportunities to practice speaking Japanese!

For intermediate and advanced learners, I focus on helping you sound more natural and confident.

You may have noticed that Japanese people love saying “日本語上手ですね！” (Your Japanese is great!) — even when you’ve made five mistakes in one sentence 😄

I’m here to give you the corrections and explanations that people might be too polite to offer!

▪️A little about me

I studied abroad during university and enjoy learning foreign languages myself, so I understand the challenges of being a language learner.

My lessons are flexible, interactive, and tailored to your goals. I enjoy interesting conversations just as much as teaching grammar, so don’t be surprised if we end up laughing along the way!

Let me know your goals, interests, and preferred learning style.

Looking forward to meeting you!
