Hi, I'm Mika.
In my lessons, I focus on helping students turn the Japanese they learn from textbooks into Japanese they can actually use.

Using textbooks such as GENKI, we will carefully study grammar and vocabulary step by step. Then, we will practice using what you have learned through conversation, so you can gradually develop the ability to express yourself in Japanese.

I create a comfortable learning environment where you can ask questions freely and learn at your own pace.

Making mistakes is a natural part of learning a language.

・About Me

I studied foreign languages at university and completed a Japanese Language Teacher Training Program (minor). I have also completed an online Japanese teacher training course.

Before becoming a Japanese tutor, I worked in Japan for many years. I spent 10 years at a hotel, where I gained experience in front desk services and training new employees. I also worked in international trade administration for 6 years, using Japanese for business emails and communication.

Through these experiences, I can help you learn not only textbook Japanese, but also natural expressions commonly used in Japan and practical Japanese for daily life and work.

I have also experienced learning foreign languages myself, so I understand the challenges and joys of learning a new language.

My goal is to help you feel:

“I could communicate in Japanese!”

I mainly teach complete beginners to elementary learners (around JLPT N5–N4 level).

Using GENKI and original materials, we will build your Japanese foundation step by step.

Lessons include:

Grammar and vocabulary + conversation practice using what you learn
Pronunciation and natural Japanese expressions
Practical Japanese for daily life and work in Japan

My goal is to help you express yourself with your own words.
In every lesson, we will practice using the grammar and expressions you have learned, so you can experience more moments of:
“I could say what I wanted to say!”
