I'm a Japanese 27years woman who lives in the city center of Iceland now, I came here about a month ago with a legal working holiday visa. I am interested in teaching Japanese to people who want to learn Japanese. I'm new in Iceland, but I have already met many people here who are willing to study Japanese to watch their favorite anime or hope to visit Japan and learn Japanese culture. I've been working as a personal tutor for a high school student in Japan for 1 and a half years who wants to enter a university of vets because I majored in vets at my university.
I think it's easy to speak Japanese because Japanese always use only easy and short words to communicate. but in terms of writing and reading, it would be a little difficult because they have to learn 3 types of letters( Kanji hiragana and katakana) and they are usually mixed in a sentence. So if students want to speak Japanese to some extent, it takes less than a year, but to write and read, it takes more than 1 year.
I think it is difficult to find Japanese teacher in Reykjavik because there are not many Japanese people who live or work in Iceland.
For speaking, it is easy but for writing and reading. it's a little difficult to learn.
