Hi! I’m a native Japanese speaker from Japan and a graduate of Kyoto University, currently living in Perth.
I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing the Japanese language and culture. I’m currently improving my English in Australia, so I understand first-hand how challenging it can be to speak a new language, especially when you’re worried about making mistakes. That’s why I’d like to create relaxed and friendly lessons where you can practise without pressure.
My lessons are mainly focused on practical, natural Japanese that you can actually use in real conversations. We can practise everyday conversation, useful vocabulary and expressions, pronunciation, and Japanese for travelling or living in Japan. I can also use English to support beginners when needed, while encouraging you to use as much Japanese as possible.
My lessons are especially suited to beginners and learners who want to become more comfortable and confident speaking Japanese. We can use topics that interest you, practise real-life situations, and work on expressions that Japanese people actually use in everyday life. Lessons can be adapted to your level, interests, and goals.
Japanese may seem difficult at first because of hiragana, katakana, kanji, and grammar that works differently from English. However, you don’t need to learn everything at once. I believe one of the easiest ways to start is to learn useful phrases and simple sentence patterns, use them in conversation, and gradually build your vocabulary and grammar.
How long it takes to learn Japanese depends on your goals and how often you practise. You can start using basic phrases quite quickly, while becoming comfortable in conversation takes regular practice. Making mistakes is a natural part of learning, so I want you to feel comfortable trying to speak from the beginning.
Whether you’re a complete beginner, preparing for a trip to Japan, or simply looking for more opportunities to practise speaking, I’d be happy to help you enjoy learning Japanese and become more confident using it!
Learning Japanese in Perth can be a little challenging because you may not have many opportunities to use Japanese in everyday life. However, with regular practice and opportunities to speak with a native Japanese speaker, you can make steady progress. I think the key is to learn useful expressions and actually use them in conversation rather than only studying from textbooks.
How long it takes to learn Japanese depends on your goals and how often you practise. You can start using basic phrases and simple conversations within a relatively short time, but becoming comfortable and fluent takes consistent practice. Japanese has many different levels to explore, so I think it can also become a lifelong hobby that you can keep enjoying and improving over time.
