Hello, I'm Kana!
I'm a native Japanese speaker from Kansai, and I split my time between Europe and Japan.
My husband is from Europe, so I often travel to Europe.

【A few words about me】
I graduated from a university of international studies in Japan, where I interacted with people from many different backgrounds and ethnicities. I have also studied abroad in Australia, travelled to many countries in Europe, and backpacked around various countries in Asia. I love discovering new languages and am currently studying Greek as a hobby.
After university, I worked in various Japanese companies, where I gained firsthand experience with the etiquette, manners, and workplace culture of Japan. During that time, I also earned a certification in Keigo (敬語)—the Japanese system of honorific speech used to show respect and formality. Keigo is essential in business settings, and I can help you master its distinct vocabulary and grammar.
While working in these companies, I held a position where I was responsible for teaching business Japanese and training new employees. That was my first experience teaching high-level Japanese.
A few years later, I decided to attend a Japanese Language School in Osaka to become officially certified to teach Japanese, and so my journey as an educator began!

● Business & Interviews: With my extensive knowledge of Japanese company culture, I can help you prepare for interviews and professional interactions if you are aiming to work at a Japanese company.
● JLPT Preparation: Beginners are very welcome! I provide lessons from N5 (Hiragana/Katakana and basic grammar) all the way up to N1 and Business Japanese.
● Natural Speech & Dialect: I can help you sound more natural when speaking. Plus, as a Kansai native, I can teach you Kansai-ben! This dialect is more melodic and direct than Standard Japanese and is famous for its use in Japanese comedy.
● Travel Japanese: If you are visiting Japan as a tourist, I can teach you the essentials for making reservations and ordering at restaurants.

【Your First Lesson】
In our trial lesson, we can discuss why you want to study Japanese and which parts of the culture interest you most. We will also decide which textbooks best suit your needs. I am very much looking forward to assisting you on your language learning journey.
