Do you already study Japanese, but feel that you do not have enough opportunities to speak?
My lessons are designed for learners who want to spend less time listening to explanations and more time actually using Japanese.
You will do most of the talking.
I will ask follow-up questions, explore your answers in more depth, and help you keep the conversation going. We can discuss daily life, travel, work, Japanese culture, current interests, or any topic you would like to express your opinion about.
I previously worked as a consultant in Japan, where asking questions, leading discussions, and helping people organize their thoughts clearly were an important part of my work. I use these skills to create conversations that go beyond simple small talk.
I will not interrupt you for every small mistake. Instead, I will let you finish your thoughts and provide corrections at suitable moments. After the lesson, I can also send you personalized notes with your mistakes, more natural expressions, and alternative ways to communicate what you wanted to say.
Japanese may seem difficult because of its grammar, writing systems, and levels of politeness. However, the most effective way to become comfortable speaking is to use the language regularly without being afraid of mistakes. My goal is to give you a relaxed but focused environment where you can speak, think, and express yourself in Japanese.
These lessons are especially suitable for learners who can already make basic Japanese sentences and want to improve their fluency and confidence. Lessons are available in person in Groningen and online.
Japanese can feel challenging at first because of its writing systems, grammar, and levels of politeness. However, you do not need to master everything before you start speaking. My lessons focus on helping you use the Japanese you already know and become more confident through conversation.
The time it takes to learn Japanese depends on your current level and how often you practise. Since there are relatively few Japanese teachers in Amsterdam and Japanese is not commonly used in everyday life in the Netherlands, it can be difficult to improve through self-study alone. Whether you study in Amsterdam, Groningen, or online, the most important thing is to practise consistently. Let’s work on your Japanese together!
