Learning a language is about having fun. The more you like the lessons the better and faster you learn. That's why I offer personalized lessons based on the student's interests. You'll work on your favorite movies and music under the guidance of an experienced teacher, who is currently attending a Master for Italian teachers to become even more qualified.
I believe the student has to have an active role in discovering grammar rules. So, I won't explain them, but I'll take you on a journey to explore my beautiful mother tongue. Ready for that?
About me. I'm an anthropologist and a language teacher (4 years experience). I've always been fascinated by foreign cultures and languages and I've lived and studied abroad in Europe ad Asia. I can speak English (C1) and French (B2) and I've studied also German, Portuguese, Spanish, and some modern Indian languages (Hindi, Bengali, and Assamese).
Every language has both easy parts and difficult ones. Italian grammar is indeed challenging, but I've developed specific technics to make it easier to learn. On the other hand, reading Italian isn't very difficult, as there are fixed pronunciation rules.
As a teacher, I do believe learning a language means being able to communicate. From the very beginning, you'll learn simple expressions you can use in your everyday communication.
People from Palermo speak Italian and Palermitan. Though the two are intertwined in everyday conversation, Palermitan is labelled a "dialect" and often considered as somehow lower or less refined than Italian. I do not see any significant difference between "languages" and "dialects", as they are both fully articulate forms of communication.
However, being your Italian teacher, I'll teach you Italian (with a few traditional expressions from Palermitan).
