Namaste, and welcome to my profile. My name reflects eleven years of dedicated experience as a Hindi and Telugu language teacher, working within school settings to help students of all ages build genuine confidence and fluency in these two beautiful languages.
My academic foundation began with a Bachelor of Arts degree, followed by a Diploma in Elementary Education, which is commonly known as D-E-D, giving me both the subject depth and the pedagogical training needed to teach young learners effectively. Over more than a decade in the classroom, I have taught students across a wide range of grade levels, from young children in classes one through five, building their very first reading and writing skills, right through to older students preparing for board examinations, where grammar, comprehension, and written expression become critical.
My teaching philosophy centers on building strong fundamentals first. For younger learners, this means focusing on phonetics, basic vocabulary, and simple sentence construction in a way that feels engaging rather than repetitive. I often use storytelling, rhymes, and interactive reading exercises to keep young minds curious about the language rather than intimidated by it. For older students, I shift focus toward grammar mastery, comprehension strategies, and essay or letter writing skills, all of which are essential for academic success in both Hindi and Telugu.
Having taught both Hindi and Telugu, I bring a somewhat unique perspective, since I can draw comparisons between the two languages that often help students grasp tricky grammar concepts faster, especially when a student is more comfortable in one language and I can use it as a bridge to teach the other. This is particularly useful for students in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where both languages are commonly spoken but not always taught with equal depth in mainstream schools.
Beyond grammar and vocabulary, I place a strong emphasis on spoken fluency and confidence. Many students, especially in urban settings, can read and write reasonably well but hesitate to speak, so I incorporate conversational practice, role play, and simple everyday dialogue into my sessions to help them become comfortable actually using the language, not just studying it.
I am patient, approachable, and adapt my teaching pace to each individual student's needs, since every learner progresses differently. Whether a student needs help catching up after falling behind, wants to get ahead of their school syllabus, or simply wants to build a stronger connection with their mother tongue, I tailor my sessions accordingly.
I am now offering online tutoring sessions and look forward to bringing the same dedication and structured approach that has shaped my eleven years of classroom teaching into a virtual setting, helping students learn from the comfort of their homes.
Telugu in Chennai is quite manageable with the right guidance, especially since Chennai has a sizeable Telugu-speaking community, so learners often get natural exposure outside the classroom too. With structured lessons focusing on script, vocabulary, and conversational practice, most students can build basic conversational confidence within a few months, and with consistent practice, strong reading and writing skills follow naturally over time.
The easiest way to learn Telugu in Chennai is through regular one-on-one conversational practice paired with structured lessons on script and grammar, since Chennai's sizeable Telugu-speaking community gives learners plenty of natural exposure outside class too. Combining short daily practice sessions with real-life listening and speaking opportunities, rather than relying purely on textbook learning, tends to help students pick up the language faster and more confidently
