🇩🇪 Native German Tutor in Taipei
Hi! I’m a native German speaker and Psychology student at the University of Groningen (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen), currently on exchange at National Taiwan University (NTU).
I’ve taught and tutored students between 8 and 22 years old, and I really enjoy helping people become more confident with German. I’m happy to work with complete beginners as well as students who already know some German and want to improve their speaking, grammar or pronunciation.
My lessons are relaxed but structured. I’ll adapt them to what you actually want to achieve rather than giving you the same lesson every week. If you want to practise conversation, we can focus on speaking. If you need help with school or university, we can work through the material together. And if you are starting from zero, I’ll guide you through the basics step by step.
What can we work on?
Conversation & speaking
Grammar & vocabulary
Everyday German
School & university German
Exam preparation
German for children & teenagers
Reading & writing
Pronunciation
German has a reputation for being difficult, but it doesn't have to be.
There are definitely some tricky parts... especially der, die, das, cases and word order. But once you understand the logic behind them, German becomes much easier. I try to explain grammar in a simple way instead of asking you to memorise endless rules.
What is the easiest way to learn German?
For me, the most important thing is actually using the language.
You don't need to spend five hours studying grammar every day. Regular practice, learning useful vocabulary, listening to German and having conversations are much more effective in the long run.
That's why I like to make lessons practical and connected to situations you might actually encounter.
How long does it take to learn German?
It depends on your goal and how regularly you practise.
You can start having simple conversations surprisingly quickly, even if you are a complete beginner. Becoming fluent naturally takes longer, but you don't have to wait until then to enjoy using German.
If you want to learn German in a relaxed environment while still making real progress, feel free to book a lesson with me. I'd be happy to meet you!
Learning German in Taipei can be a little challenging because you don't necessarily hear German in your everyday life. But that doesn't mean you can't make good progress.
The good thing is that you can create your own German environment through regular conversation, listening, reading and lessons. Having a tutor also gives you the opportunity to practise speaking regularly and ask questions whenever something doesn't make sense.
As a native German speaker currently studying at NTU, I can also help you with the things you won't always find in a textbook, natural expressions, pronunciation, everyday German and how Germans actually speak.
