ONLINE - Business and Regular German (by Pro Native Speaker)

Private German Tutor in New York City and Online

Hi there,

if you are serious about embarking on a "language journey" with your German (probably you need it for work, relocation, business contacts or just private reasons and interest), I`ll gladly work with you (doesn`t mean that can`t be fun, too ;-))

I had professional language training and studied interpreting/translation on top, worked for 10+ years with international teams and was giving classes at different times of my life to learners of all ages (tutor for kids, young professionals in Spain (gastro/hospitality staff) and mature professionals).
Currently I mainly work online (due to our worldwide situation) and teach a lot, but still do have some slots to fill, so can gladly offer you my time, if you want to learn with me!

Our focus can be on: grammar, vocabulary, talking, reading, pronunciation, improving your overall German, German for studies or work-related, Business German, or any blend in between. Please let me know what helps you out most - and get in touch quickly to schedule our first classes together! - I`m looking forward to learning with you!
> If you are a non-native speaker of English and love my profile, I can also offer you to train you in English (though of course, there are many native speakers around, who are beautifully qualified for that, too)

(P.S. I speak 5 languages and travelled a lot - so usually can make sense of people`s background and probably even understand one or the other foreign language you may speak...)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it difficult to learn German in New York City?

I teach online - but if you`re in NY that is also great ;-)
I teach diverse levels: please describe your background, so we find the best way to push to towards your desired goals.
We can go slower or quicker and either concentrate on one particular topic (grammar, speaking, reading, sounding like a German), or blend things with each other, so you have a "holistic improvement" in your language.
It`s a bit of learning effort, of course. But fun, too. Particularly, if you notice how you keep getting better at understanding movies, reading texts, probably speaking to peaple... (learning a language is always rewarding!)

How much time does it take to learn German in New York City?

How long it takes to learn proper German depends on your prior experience with languages in general, your predispositions, your prior knowlege in German in particular, how many classes you want to take (how intensely you are learning and retreiving information) and some other individual factors (do you have a German speaking environment/partner?).
So, that one will differ. - For me personally the time span is not so crucial - but the main focus should be to have the right learning pace for each person, and keep yourself interested in what you do. Sometimes chewing on a topic for some weeks will give you better insights longterm (and a better command of the language) than if you "did it in 3 days", but then don´t remember too much after a month or keep making mistakes for the next years to come....
In general one could say: in a year you should be able to go from total beginner to a solid state of language use (for some that will be B1/B2 and for others that might be C1).
