Hey,
My name's Lusia, and I am a native German speaker who's currently traveling through New Zealand. I love meeting new people and helping them learn new things. I used to help young kids back home after school with their homework and generally love seeing other people succeed. I feel like German is best learned while speaking, cause that's what you will mostly need.
I graduated last year from a bilingual high school, so communication has always been an important part for me, and while I enjoy improving my English skills, I feel like giving back to people by teaching my mother language would be a fun thing to do.
I love poetry, stars, and generally talking about everything that comes to mind (even if it's the long-hated German grammar).
I am looking forward to meeting you all and having a nice time together!
Talking! The best way to learn a language is to talk, talk about life, about school, about the weather. It doesn't matter, as long as you like the topic and you talk about it in German, you are learning.
And hearing! Listening to people, to podcasts, or even to TV shows like the famous German Tatort. Learning a language is about listening and talking (and sadly learning at least some of the grammatical rules)
I don't want to lie; I personally think German is a hard language to learn. With all the sein, ist, sind, and everything else, there are so many things you need to be aware of. But I also think that you can do it. It's all about being willing and having a strong mindset about it. And then, of course, talking and listening and talking.
