Private French Tutor in Taichung and Online
Hello there,
I am a Belgo-Moroccan from Brussels, currently in Taiwan on a working holiday. I would love to help anyone who wants to learn the French language.
I offer spontaneous and private sessions, either in person or online. These can be casual conversations about everyday life, along with customized lessons adapted to each student’s needs and interests. I want to get to know my students and build a real connection, which I believe greatly supports language learning.
Coming from Belgium and being a native French speaker, I am also happy to share my knowledge with anyone interested in learning Belgian French as an extra tool. I love linguistics and exploring the unique and sometimes surprising ways human beings communicate.
My perspective on French comes with a twist. I believe that French, like any language, is alive and constantly evolving—it is not engraved in stone. Due to the North African diaspora in Europe, for example, the language has evolved in the mouths of younger generations and is now richer than ever. I enjoy teaching slang and ways of speaking that will make you feel more like a native speaker.
Sometimes, when I speak English with friends, I feel like half of what I’m saying is just French with an English accent—and that feeling isn’t unfounded. Around 30% of English vocabulary comes from French, so if you already speak English, learning French words can feel surprisingly familiar.
For me, the easiest way to learn French is through meaningful input. In other words, building emotional and personal connections with the sentences and vocabulary you learn. When the language resonates with you, it becomes much easier to remember and use naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it difficult to learn French in Taichung?
If you already have English as an additional language, I don’t think it’s too complicated. I do have to say that it’s not as easy as learning it in Europe, since you hear the language less often here, but it is certainly not an impossible task.
How much time does it take to learn French in Taichung?
It may vary from person to person; there is no set timeframe or endpoint, as languages are alive and constantly evolving. However, if you want to reach a B1 level from scratch, it may take more than a year.

Whatever makes the student more comfortable, I can meet in person in cafés all over the city. It could be in the meeting or common space of their apartment complex, if that’s the case, or even directly in their home. I can also host students until mid-May 2026.
