ONLY AVAILABLE FOR 1 HOUR LESSONS - I am Valérie, a native French and experienced teacher ( I have been teaching for 18 years now; I taught in UK, China, and Australia).
For VCE students: I don't have a lot of slots available on weekdays between 4 pm and 7 pm , but check with me first, and week ends are possible at certain times.

I have a French degree ( DAFLE degree from Alliance Française) to teach French to non French native speakers.
I ‘ve been living in Australia for 7 years and taught privately dozens of VCE students in year 12 (a high percentage of them got more than 40, best grade 52 ).
If you plan to take French as a VCE subject, I highly recommend to start lessons from year 9 or 10 onwards.
I also prepared other students , younger kids as well as adults, (including beginners), for their pleasure or to get them ready for French exams.

All my lessons are adjusted to your needs and interests: speaking , listening, writing with focus on grammar & conjugation.
For the adults who are more advanced, we'll work on your favorite topics and learn more about French culture.

1 hour is a good duration for my lessons, or 45 minutes if you are younger than 12, but it depends on your ability to focus on lessons.

You are welcome to take lessons at my home in Ahsburton (3147) or online.
Face to face lessons are usually a better experience, but some Students enjoy online lessons and find them more convenient and effective.

My lessons are intensive and you’ll cover a lot of ground in one hour. I usually give homework unless you don't want to.

One hour per week is 70$ (as per Tutoroo's pricing rules, "from $45 per hour" is for 4 hours per week).

I started doing French lessons with Valérie in Year 11, with the intent of stopping them in Year 12 as school got busy. However, instead I continued them right up until my final Year 12 exams, because I found them to be so beneficial. My speaking skills improved significantly, along with my reading and listening. Valérie was able to plan lessons that built on what I was learning in class, and was also able to adapt the lessons without any preparation if I mentioned I was struggling in a certain area. The lessons challenged and pushed me to do my best, but were in no way stressful or daunting. I would highly recommend Valérie.

As a year 12 student this year Valerie has been amazingly helpful in preparing me for all of my SACs and my exam. She has been extremely encouraging and kind and really cared for my progression in French. Working with Valerie made me feel much more confident in all aspects of the language. Valerie is an amazing tutor and i was so lucky to have found her during my VCE studies of French! She, being French herself, has an in depth knowledge of the French language which is rare to find in a tutor. Not only was Valerie constantly providing me with alternative vocabulary in order to expand it, but also advised me on colloquial expressions which I wouldn’t have been otherwise able to find online. Her tailored and passionate assistance helped my grades (and accent!) improve dramatically across all aspects of the French subject. She is such a lovely woman to chat with and made my perception of French studies change for the better. She really improved my confidence in both speaking and writing ability as we prepared for SACs and end of year exam. Valerie also was both flexible and understanding in terms of changing the times of our tutoring sessions which was incredibly helpful for me with the business of VCE. Valérie is such a wonderful French Tutor! She really takes her time to explain things and caters her lessons to suit your needs and learning style. She uses a wide range of teaching materials to keep the lessons engaging and fun. She creates a wonderful relaxed environment and still manages to cover a lot of ground. Valérie is a fabulous tutor. She is engaging, professional, friendly and well-organised. She can find articles and resources that are perfectly suited to my level and interests, so she can tailor her sessions exactly to match her student. In addition, Valérie is able to create challenging and original exercises to ensure that I am always learning and extending my level of French.
