My name is Alex, I am French Vietnamese. I came to study in HKU in 2019 and came back to live here in 2024.
I am bilingual in French and English and have previously worked for banks and consultancy companies so I am familiar with presenting new concepts to audience of multiple backgrounds. I have conducted educational workshops in French.
I also have experience with tutoring children.
French is sometimes difficult even for some French people, that is why it requires the good basics and repetition especially if your first language is very different like Cantonese for example.
The Focus for our sessions will be to make sure you can talk freely with native French speakers and feel confident about your level. I can prepare you to take the French DELF exam for A1 to C2.

Is it difficult to learn French in Hong Kong?
Yes learning French in Hong Kong can be difficult especially if you do not have native speakers friends or family members because of the sheer amount of exceptions and nuances in the French Language.
How much time does it take to learn French in Hong Kong?
It depends what your goal is, for conversational/casual discussions it can take 2h a week it should take around 3-6 months. However for more professional/in depth vocabulary and pronunciation it may require over a year of diligent work with native speakers to converse with.
