Hello and Bonjour,
Welcome to your French class!
My name is Stéphanie. I am offering some French lessons customised to all levels. I have been working with students of French around the globe for many years.
Lessons are primarily geared towards conversation and we will focus on any sides of the language you need to work on or wish to prioritise, in both the oral and the written forms.
I am a professional French tutor and linguist who lived in several English and French-speaking countries. I have also taught English as a foreign language.
I have studied and worked in English to French translation (MA), foreign literature, and civilisations including pedagogy and education settings as part of my English studies (BA). Other practical experience as a linguist involved collaborating with the exam board in the scope of discussing students’ results subsequent to their language exams.
In addition to my work experience as a linguist, I also have a background in other professional areas including University administration, childcare, the travel industry, and international trade, as well as working in dance and with cultural and pedagogical exchanges.
I have been teaching adults and children and I also worked with some professionals already fluent in French preparing for their job application involving some monolingual and multilingual tests and requiring some coaching in translation ahead of their exams.
Every year I help some students in Ireland ahead of the leaving certificate exams. For those of you who live in other countries, this is the equivalent of the Baccalauréat French exam or the A levels in the UK.
As a student of French, you may be seeking to keep up with your language practice or learn a new language. Whether you are looking to perfect your French or start from scratch, you are very welcome to your 1 to 1 French class. I have also attended to some couples sharing the same screen or two participants sharing the same session if you would like to share the time, the price, and the same conversation together is an option.
All you will need is a webcam and a stable internet connection.
During our first lesson, we will introduce each other and discuss the reasons why you want to learn French, as well as any other aspect of your French learning project that might be particularly relevant to you. All questions are very welcome so we can implement the teaching and learning approach that works best for you.
I look forward to meeting you and speaking French with you soon, à bientôt!
Stéphanie
There are many ways you can learn French in Dublin, with many courses and great teachers available. You may prefer a group lesson or individual classes. You may also opt for face-to-face lessons or classes via video classes. For the time being, I teach only online classes. I have experience teaching both on-site and online, individual and group classes. I spécialisé in private tuition and I adapt to each student’s level which in turn brings them some ease of expression and progress according to their own speeds, objectives, and situation.
It depends on your current level. If you already have a good command of the language you may find that once a week is sufficient for your practice. If you are a beginner or working towards a deadline, you may want to increase the frequency to two or three times a week for some prompt results, it all depends on your personal circumstances. Do get in touch and we can discuss this further based on your own specific needs.
