Hi! My name is Julie Ann and I’m a first-time Filipino language tutor who’s truly excited to begin this journey of teaching and sharing the beautiful Filipino language with learners from all over the world. I may be new to teaching professionally, but I bring with me a deep love for the Filipino language, culture, and the joy of connecting with others through communication.
I grew up speaking Filipino (Tagalog) as my native language, and it has always been a huge part of my identity. Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate how rich, expressive, and unique our language is—not just in vocabulary, but in how it reflects our values of respect, family, and community. Now, I want to help others discover that, too.
As your tutor, I aim to create a fun, relaxed, and encouraging learning environment where you won’t feel pressured to be perfect. Whether you're learning Filipino for travel, work, relationships, or to connect with your heritage, I will tailor each lesson to your goals and learning style. I can help you build practical conversation skills, expand your vocabulary, and understand common Filipino expressions used in real-life situations.
Since I’m just starting out, I bring a fresh and patient approach to teaching. I understand what it’s like to learn a new language—how it can be exciting but sometimes intimidating. That’s why I’ll always make sure our sessions are interactive, friendly, and easy to follow, even for absolute beginners.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy Filipino music, food, movies, and of course, sharing stories from our culture and history. I also love connecting with people from different backgrounds and learning about their own cultures.
If you’re looking for a supportive and enthusiastic Filipino tutor who will guide you step by step, I’d be honored to be part of your language-learning journey. Let’s explore the beauty of Filipino together—Tara, mag-aral tayo!
Here's my tips to learn easily.
•If you have filipino friends try to them even your neighbors, or coworkers.
•Visit areas where Filipinos often gather (e.g., Juffair, Gudaibiya).
•Attend Filipino cultural events, church services, or gatherings.
Yes, Why ?
Filipino Can Be Easy to Learn:
•No Verb Conjugations by Person
Unlike Spanish or French, Filipino verbs don’t change depending on who is speaking.
Example:
Kumain ako = I ate
Kumain siya = He/She ate (same verb form)
Pronunciation Is Straightforward
Words are mostly phonetic—what you see is what you say.
The alphabet is Latin-based, like English.
Lots of English Influence
Many Filipino words are borrowed from English or Spanish, so you’ll hear familiar terms like kompyuter (computer), ospital (hospital), iskul (school).
•Friendly Native Speakers
Filipinos are usually very supportive and enthusiastic when someone is learning their language!
