Expert TEFL & Business English coach. I will assess specific areas for development quickly through a thorough needs analysis during our the first session. I am happy to accept 2-4 students in small groups.
Also General English from a specialist for ages 5-105, including iGCSEs and International A levels / IB awards, from a Native English Speaker. Bespoke lessons are created for individual needs, and small group classes are offered also. If there are two to four students who wish to split the cost of a small group class please let me know.
I am a fully qualified teacher (QTS) Business English Specialist and TEFL teacher. I have taught nationwide in UK educational establishments for over thirty years in various posts, including the role of Head of English, and Whole School Literacy Coordinator, mainly in high schools (11-18), but I also have experience teaching in the primary sector and colleges of further education. I am an expert in my subject areas of English, Literature, Linguistics, Psychology & Drama. I have many years of experience as an examiner of GCSE English Literature and I have examined A-level English Language, and KS3 SATs when they were in operation. I teach English and Psychology at all levels, ages 5 to 105. I achieved GBC with my MSc allowing me membership in The British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also a qualified TEFL and Business English teacher ( Teaching English as a Foreign Language - 120 Hours cert. plus TEFL Business English cert. 30 hours) and currently teach students globally online, of all ages, and abilities. I have also successfully home-schooled my son from age 7 to 16, including IGCSEs in English Language, Literature, Maths, Geography, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
I use my expertise and experience of over twenty years, which has given me a very strong platform from which to teach, to maximize the potential of every student. I believe learning should be fun, and am passionate about helping students to achieve the highest level, whilst allowing a true appreciation of their chosen subject. I use an individualized and innovative approach, often exploiting my Drama skills to allow all learning styles to be accommodated. My students have always achieved their predicted grades, with many exceeding expectations. An A-level English Language student of mine once achieved the highest mark in the UK on one particular paper of her chosen exam board. I find online tuition extremely effective, as it allows a relaxed and safe environment providing the ideal learning experience.
