UK native speaker, experience with children & business.

I'm Josef, a UK native currently teaching teenagers and adults at schools here in Lisbon. I have over ten years of experience teaching in schools, and I also speak Portuguese and Spanish for younger students who may have trouble translating. I feel that I'm a very patient, supportive, and friendly tutor in my style of teaching.

There are many approaches to learning English that work better for each student, I've worked with structured courses and exam-certified books alongside more individually designed courses for students' specific needs. Over many years of experience, I've learned to know what the needs of students are and how to fit around you!

I have taught technical/business English, grammar abilities, exam preparation (IELTS, TOEFL) and more. I'd say I have a fun, flexible, and creative approach to teaching, I love to prepare games for younger students and find shared interests and materials with adult students to make classes fun and easy to learn. In the UK I worked with ESL children aged 4 and upwards, often speaking English for the first time, so I understand how to design fun classes for younger children who might feel shy and lacking confidence to start with. I am TEFL qualified and have completed many other teacher training courses in the UK.

I graduated from the University of East Anglia in International Relations, and I have taught in different countries, such as Chile, using global education training to form a global perspective. I've travelled and lived in many countries such as Mexico, Brazil, and Chile. I am a musician that plays accordion, guitar, and piano, but I also love movies, travel, and outdoor activities such as cycling and hiking.
