Private English Tutor in Lisbon and Online

Hello, I am Serafim.

I am a native American English speaker, experienced tutor and former university lecturer now living in Portugal.

I particularly welcome Portuguese and Spanish speakers who want to improve their English for conversation, everyday life, travel, work or study.

My lessons are relaxed, practical and adapted to you. We can concentrate on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing or a combination of these, depending upon what you want to achieve.

I have taught for many years in the United Kingdom and the United States, from individual tutoring and fundamental English skills to university-level education. I have worked with students of very different abilities and backgrounds, so I do not expect every student to learn in the same way.

I am also learning Portuguese and have studied Spanish, so I know what it feels like to search for the right word in another language!

Most importantly, you should not be afraid of making mistakes with me. We will use them as part of the learning process. My aim is to get you speaking English with greater confidence, accuracy and independence.
