Improve your English with a super funny teacher! :D

I have been teaching English in Taiwan for over 18 years. For the first ten years, I taught mainly children. After 10 years, I needed a change. I took a job teaching ESL at a local adult English school. I was teaching mostly students who were in university or college and professionals who needed to brush up on their English for work or practice their conversation abilities.

Teaching children is fine. They are fun and cute but their ability was not challenging me as a teacher or a person. It also becomes very repetitive to teach phonics and ABCs. But the difference is older students are there to learn and they want to learn. And I have a passion for teaching these students who have that thirst for knowledge. I get great satisfaction and a feeling of accomplishment that I didn’t seem to get from teaching children. I cater lessons to individual students on a wide range of subjects. Whether it would be a class on travel, cooking, or common phrases and sayings, I would involve all students and engage them and challenge all students so that they would find the class or topic interesting.
