Born and raised in the UK to parents native to Hong Kong. Hakka is my mother tongue as well as English.
I have been living and working in Hong Kong for 10+ years which has allowed me to be fluent in Cantonese speaking. I have worked in the Luxury Retail sector for 8+ years with great people skills as well as a passion for training and mentoring pupils. Most importantly, to inspire the students to enjoy the process of learning.
I come from a big family, with a natural ability to be around children of all ages.
Studying in the UK I have basic GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science. Following with a diploma from Art and Design College. Then finishing up with a First degree in Fashion Design at Nottingham University, graduating in the year 2009.
After graduation, I spent 2 years working in London in the design industry to learn the tricks of the trade which eventually led me back to Hong Kong for work experience, but I ended up staying here and not returning to the UK since.
English is easy to learn if one is NOT afraid to try and NOT afraid to make mistakes. Personally, I think it's important to practice daily speaking to see improvements. This was my personal experience with learning Cantonese when I came back to Hong Kong. I came to suggest many creative ways to invite english speaking into your daily life to support the learning process.
I would say a minimum practice of 2 hours per week with myself along with extra homework during the week to keep on track to see real progress. It will also depend on each student's needs, not everyone can learn in the same way, so it is also important for a tutor to identify the best techniques to teach the students depending on their personalities.
