I'm a woman from South Africa, I live in Portugal, I've taught English to preschool and high school in Thailand, I taught swimming to children in London, and in South Africa, English is my native language. I did my TEFL course in South Africa many years ago.
English is difficult to learn, as most languages are, but in my opinion, it's easier than most. You learn quickly by repetition and speaking more frequently, as I find if it's not used enough, the brain fails to retain the information you've learned.
