Qualified, experienced ESOL teacher with Linguistics degree

I am a qualified teacher with a CELTA certificate to teach English and a linguistics degree. I have worked in many different places in Christchurch from private schools to large tertiary institutions. I also teach children online via skype who are living overseas. I have taught both general English and IELTS.

I started teaching English because I wanted to help people integrate into the country they have chosen to live in. My husband is a migrant and I saw the struggles when he first arrived in New Zealand. I have also learnt a second language (Portuguese) as an adult and know that it is not easy and you need to work hard and practice.

I believe that being brave and trying and failing with native speakers is the most important thing if you want to learn to speak well. I know this can be scary. I can tailor lessons to each individual depending on their goals.
