Fun, easy going experienced teacher

Hello, my name is Meghan Bamberg. I am 33 years old and reside in the Madison, Wisconsin area in the United States. I have two cats and two dogs, who make life so fun. I am currently finishing my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor/certificate in Criminal Justice. This should be completed by the end of the year at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, go Badgers! I love teaching, especially English to those who come from different cultures and places.



I have extensive teaching credentials in the field of Autism therapy and respite care. Within my almost 15 years of experience, I have focused on the concept of “play” therapy. This type of work is called Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and uses communication and learning skills through positive reinforcement. I have been teaching English online through multiple platforms for the last year. I utilize Total Physical Response within my classes. I also try to challenge my students to work hard. The patience, understanding, and dedication I give to each student is something I am quite proud of and fine-tuned with my Autism students.



I love to make learning enjoyable. I do this by interacting constantly and using voice control to help direct and teach. For example, I will show excitement if a student conquers learning a hard or long word. I will also use a calm and supportive voice tone when they may be struggling or to maintain control of the lesson. I specifically love teaching English because it will help close the gap in this global environment. I utilize many teaching styles to adapt to what is most comfortable for the student. I understand that some students may be more visual learners while others may be more auditory learners. My experience working with children and young adults who have struggled with developmental progress has shown me that everyone can learn and succeed.
