Hello! I'm Pétanque (Pet for short), a science graduate and English tutor with a Bachelor's in Plant Science and currently preparing to pursue a Master's in Biology (Science Communication and Society). I believe that every student learns differently, so I like to shape my lessons around your goals, pace and what you enjoy.
I hold an IELTS score of 8.5 and have two years of teaching experience, including IELTS preparation and conversational English. I currently coach a student through the IELTS modules with lessons built around their own work and progress, adjusting with their development over time.
I also spent a year as a science communicator at Thailand's National Science Museum, running hands-on biology activities in both Thai and English for learners of every age. This taught me how to read a room and adapt on the fly, whether that is simplifying an explanation or delving deeper for others who are ready to go further.

Is English easy to learn?
For conversational English, it can be picked up easily and quickly, with visual, audio, reading material that you enjoy, you will be able to learn English at a fast rate while also having fun. On the other hand, for exams, difficulty depends more on how you structure your practice.
Is it difficult to learn English in Chiang Mai?
Chiang Mai is becoming more of an international city, with plenty of English resources such as bilingual signage, exchange meet-ups. Expats, and even locals here have experiences teaching English.
