Hello. My name is Matome but some of my friends call me Matt if it's difficult. I come from South Africa 🇿🇦 and I have 2 native languages: English and another one called Khelobedu which is native to my country. I currently live in Budapest as a student and I would like to teach English to help improve your language skills. I'm easy to talk to with a wide range of interests, so I won't just teach you how to say apples and oranges, ideally I would tutor you at different so that you feel secure in your language skills. I have a lot of English speaking friends so in an ideal situation, on top of lessons, I would challenge you by inviting you out with them and get you to engage with them, depending on how whether or not you are comfortable with it, but they are friendly too so they don't bite. As cliche as it will sound, but practice practice and more practice. Most of the times I hear people who want to learn english stressing too much about their accent or how well they pronounce words so that they do not embarrass themselves. As much as it helps to improve pronunciation, I can guarantee you that no english native speaker will make you to feel bad about your accent or pronunciation, so that should ease your mind.

How much time does it take to learn English in Budapest?

As much time as you are prepared to put in. The biggest thing with english or any language is that you need to be intentional with wanting to learn it. After my poor attempts at learning Hungarian (still in the process), I can guarantee that english is probably the easiest language to exist. I would recommend practicing at least 3 times a week minimum, but the more the better.
