I’m an Education Studies (BA) graduate who has always been a passionate communicator and thrives off opportunities to draw people in and engage them in subjects and ideas.
As part of my degree, I selected a Teaching English as a Foreign Language module which sparked a passion for using language to bridge cultures and empower students to take control of their own future. My post-grad CELTA qualification equipped me with effective methodologies for teaching English to non-native speakers and I'm proficient in creating engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.

What kind of teacher am I?
“She’s amazing – friendly, approachable, empathetic with very clear boundaries. I’d have absolutely
no concerns about employing her”
Claire Garret, The Harbour Project
Red Bus English School (January 2016 – June 2016)
My teaching approach and style were to ensure learners felt safe and supported by teaching English in real contexts which were useful to the students' goals, such as traveling, working or studying. I’m a patient teacher, adaptable and am able to explain complex grammar concepts in clear and accessible ways, often using real-life props to help test learning and increase the learners' relatability to the subject matter.
Beginner Lessons
I taught A1 adults and absolutely loved watching them move through the curriculum from basic greetings to being able to describe themselves and others.
Private Lessons
I can access and process information quickly so I am able to tailor my approach to the learning style and needs of my 1:1 learners.
I often let my 1:1 client lead and decide the direction of the lessons depending on the areas of English grammar that needed developing but also provided more specific lessons based on skills gaps such as Business English.
IELTS
I enjoyed my group IELTS lessons as I supported students who were seeking entry to undergraduate or postgraduate studies or those
that were migrating to an English-speaking country or applying for work experience programs. We always started by familiarizing students with the test format and different task types. Each lesson we would focus on one of the four test areas listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
Harbour Project (October 2016 – August 2020)
During this role, I had to cater to a wide range of needs and learning styles as the learners came from various countries with different languages, education levels, and cultural experiences. In addition, many refugees may have experienced trauma so it was essential I created a safe and supportive classroom environment that prioritizes well-being.
