Private English Tutor in Barcelona and Online

Hi! I'm Elise, a native English speaker from Chicago, now based in beautiful Barcelona.

My lessons are personalized to your needs, practice-oriented, and relaxed. While building a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary, we focus on what really matters: helping you speak English naturally and confidently.

I have over 10 years of teaching experience, a Master's degree in Philology and Linguistic Sciences, and I'm currently completing the Cambridge DELTA. I specialize in English for business professionals, although over the course of my career I've taught all ages and abilities.

I started teaching English in Rabat, Morocco, to a class of blind students in secondary school. Since then, I've taught students of all ages and abilities.
Most recently, however, I've specialized in business English. I've worked in a corporate environment as Learning & Development International Lead at a company with thousands of employees on six continents, where I led trainings across our subsidiaries globally, from South Africa to Malaysia to North America.
For seven years in Italy, I worked with senior-level managers in multinational companies, lawyers, accountants and others, helping them with their communications to grow professionally and develop a coherent company tone and language.
I also worked with directors and chief surgeons in hospitals, to write scientific articles and present their papers in conferences throughout the world.
I have a Master's degree in Philology and Linguistic Sciences, and I'm currently completing the Cambridge DELTA.

When not teaching, I also write materials and videos for English-learning textbooks, with the Italian publishing house Mondadori. You can find my work in books like Gateway, Switch and Beyond.

And a little about me: when I'm not teaching, you'll probably find me on my bicycle! I also love cooking (especially fresh pasta), travelling and spending time with my pup, Zola.

Whether you need English for work, travel or simply want to feel more confident speaking, I'll adapt our lessons to you and your goals.

¡Hola!
