I have spent the past 20 years living and working in Tokyo, I’ve taught all ages and levels, in schools and universities, and businesses such as Sony and Hitachi.
While teaching English to support myself, I have become involved in Japanese underground theatre, become better at playing my guitar, and enjoy drawing more and more. I always like to bring interesting topics to the table. In my regular private classes I often base lessons around Breaking News English where one page mini lesson plans can be downloaded. The students always get a lot from studying important phrases first then seeing how they are used. And finally the real fun part is the discussion.
