Private Danish Tutor in Budapest and Online
Journalist
I am a native Danish speaker from Copenhagen with a background in journalism, radio, communication and cultural studies. I have worked professionally with language and communication for several years, including as a radio host and journalist, and I hold a Master's degree in Cultural Encounters.
I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and helping them become more confident using Danish in real-life situations. My lessons are primarily conversational and can be adapted to your level, interests and goals. We can work with everyday Danish, pronunciation, vocabulary and natural expressions, as well as Danish culture and the small nuances that can be difficult to learn from a textbook.
I believe learning a language should feel engaging and useful rather than like a test. I am patient, curious and comfortable creating conversations around many different topics. Whether you are learning Danish because you are moving to Denmark, have a Danish partner, need it for work, or simply want to practise speaking, we can shape the lessons around what is most useful for you.
I am currently based in Budapest and am available for both in-person and online lessons.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the easiest way to learn Danish in Budapest?
The easiest way to learn Danish in Budapest is through regular conversation with a native speaker. Danish pronunciation can be quite different from the written language, so speaking and listening are especially important. I like to combine natural conversation with practical vocabulary, pronunciation and everyday expressions, adapting each lesson to the student's level, interests and reasons for learning Danish.
How much time does it take to learn Danish in Budapest?
It depends on your starting point, goals and how often you practise. With regular lessons and practice between sessions, you can start having simple everyday conversations relatively quickly. Becoming fluent takes longer, especially because Danish pronunciation can be challenging. I focus on helping you speak and understand real Danish from the beginning, so you can gradually become more confident in everyday conversations.
