Learn Taiwanese Mandarin with Yung-Hsin Online!

Hello! My name is Yung-Hsin and I'm from Taipei, Taiwan. Mandarin is my first language, and I’m passionate about sharing it with others.

Learning languages is a big part of who I am—I’ve picked up 10 different ones! This journey has given me a deep understanding of what it’s like to be on the learner’s side, so I know firsthand the challenges and triumphs you’ll experience.

With years of experience teaching various languages to students ranging from 2 to 50 years old, I’ve developed a flexible teaching style that accommodates learners of all ages and backgrounds. My experience as a multilingual translator also helps me explain things clearly and contextually.

In my classes, I focus on teaching traditional Chinese characters, as I believe they offer a rich cultural and historical perspective. Although I can read and write simplified characters, my focus will remain on traditional characters.

I’m passionate about art & culture, travel, social movements, and human rights, and I’m enthusiastic about sharing insights into Taiwan’s vibrant landscape—whether it's the latest trends or everyday life. I believe that listening and speaking are crucial first steps in language learning, with reading and writing following naturally. To create an immersive experience, my classes will primarily be conducted in Mandarin. Don’t worry—you’ll understand me, and I’ll guide you every step of the way!
